Moonstone & Diamond Ring

The Fun:

I really love that this charming moonstone has been set into luxurious 18K yellow gold.  It's just perfect.  According to GIA, moonstone is "a mixture of two feldspar minerals that are layered inside the stone. When light falls between these layers, it scatters in many directions. This causes the phenomenon called adularescence. This is a light that seems to move across a gemstone."
I just love saying "adularescence."  I mean, c'mon...that's a power word right there.

18K yellow gold moonstone & diamond ring. 4.7 grams. One cabochon oval moonstone, 6x8mm & 8 round brilliant cut side diamonds, .35pts, VS clarity, FG color. Ring size 6.5.
